Legacy from grandfather - Matchboy Yesteryear collection

Postby matchboxtoni » Mon Jun 15, 2015 4:33 pm

Dear all, i got the following collection as legacy from my grandfather.
Now i want to check, if it's valuable. I check a little at ebay. There the models have range between 1 to 5€.
By the way, I'm from Germany/Stuttgart.
In my book, they are in a good condition, at the most a little bit dusty. But no broken parts oder paint.

My question is, is there any rarity, which has more value than the standard 5€.
Nevertheless i will keep this collection for my own in remembrance to my grandfather.

It would give me a great pleasure, if I get a feedback from you.

Thank you! Best regards from Germany.
Toni

So, finally here are the cars.

Seem to be all common models from the 70's & 80's, the dust is easy enough to remove and they do seem in great condition however the market for Yesteryears is simply put, Dead. None of these are boxed and the plastics appear to be sun faded so at best you would be looking for £1-2 each.

As they came from your Grandfather I would clean them up and keep them as a lovely reminder of him, they are not worth much in monetary value.

The white/cream Ford T model with textured black roof is quite rare.

First, thanks for your replies.

@admin:
Yes i seems like 70/80s, also by the labels on the bottom.
What would you recommend to clean the dust from the cars. Simply with a flannel an water?
What a pity, that the market for these cars is dead.
Your suggestion is exactly what will do, cleaning the cars an put them into a seed box.
Maybe the market will be recovered.

@matchboxmarcel: "The white/cream Ford T model with textured black roof is quite rare."
Thanks... i will check it on ebay.
