If you count all code 1's- including wheels, baseplate castings, license plates plus livery changes including roofs, body & chassis as well as country of origin and toss in code 2's, ASAPs and Color Comp versions I have 783 cataloged variations in my "Cataloging Matchbox 1-75/120 Updates" in the Matchbox USA magazines. That doesn't include any preproductions (of which I currently own 38 of). That's more than any other cataloged Matchbox model. I think I tallied up over 600 or 700 in the museum here.

I just noticed the similarities between the Matchbox & Lesney Toy Museum and the Greater Pennsylvania Toy Show models, with the Greater Pennsylvania being a Code 2 model. Is there any connection between the two?

Thanks Tom. The more pictures everyone posts here the better. There are so many MB38 variations and it would be great if we could get the majority of them shown here.

Although officially an Australian issue, this item was also released in New Zealand where Mitre 10 Hardware Stores have a presence. Mitre 10 has released a number of promotional items over the years by Lledo, Matchbox and others and usually there is a point of differentiation between the NZ and Australian issues (the Lledo models look identical until you notice the Koala Bear on the Australian issue), but not in this case.
