Unusual engine in #62 Cougar Rat Rod

Postby my88kat » Tue May 30, 2017 1:22 am

Hello all! This is my first post so thanks for the add. I'm hoping someone might have some info to share about my unusual no.62 Mercury Cougar "Rat Rod" which has a different engine that any other "Rat Rod" I've seen before. My "Rat Rod" has a massive engine, much bigger than a typical "Rat Rod". The top of the engine is a little taller than the roof and the valve covers clearly stick out of the hood. A standard "Rat Rod" engine will have the top of the engine about half the height of the windshield with the valve covers below the surface of the hood. The artists impression of the engine on the original box/package looks like the engine on my car. Do I have something special here as I've searched high and low and cannot find another like mine. My engine looks factory and not like someone glued a different engine in the car.

Thanks for any help, I appreciate it.
