All White Hi-Tailer

Postby Ewen J » Tue Sep 05, 2017 9:22 pm

Found a Hi Tailer with no decals in a bargain bucket at the local model shop. My first question is in regard to this simply being a regular model with the decals removed. No paint damage is evident and the car is in decent nick all round. Did Matchbox do an edition of this car with no tampos, or has someone just popped it in the kettle a few times to boil off the stickers?

I don't believe Matchbox made them without stickers. But never say never. All sorts of things happened and if it was a sellable toy they sent it out.

Yeah. I think the decals have been steamed off or something. Most 2nd hand ones on ebay have the decals peeling but not coming off, or horrible scrape marks where someone's chiseled them off. Anyway, that's that mystery solved.
