Hi David, In regards to the listing for:

MB1062 '68 Toyota FJ Land Cruiser (alteration to MB731)

I have the '68 FJ Land Cruiser as MB990 (Modified MB764) and MB731 as the Baja Bandit.

Pretty sure MB1062 is going to be the Color Changer version of the FJ with plastic body and metal base. Not released yet.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the information. I think what bunnrock was stating is that the alteration from part was wrong. It should be stating it is altered from MB990. I have made the adjustment. Always helps having other eyes on this to ensure I have not missed or erred in any way.

:) :D :P

Added a newbie. The 2007 Honda Ridgeline has been altered and assigned the new number MB1071. So I have added that to the end of the list.

:) :D :P

Hi David,
Is there a new man number for the supposed alteration to the Ford Panel Van MAN #444 found in the current Police 5-Pack?
Thanks!
Dave

David,
Thank you for the updates on the final 2017 listings AND starting the 2018 listings! The 2018 models just started showing up in my hometown and your lists are very helpful.

It looks like Mattel is being much better about putting the MAN (MB) number on the bases of the models being produced -- it is quite handy for reference purposes.
Thanks,

Bill

I've put a bunch of this information into the BAMCA database, and will add more notations over time.

Let's talk about the Featured castings. It seems to me that most of them are related to main-line castings. I just don't know if they are modifications, one direction or the other, or if they are entirely different castings. Here is my list, which uses BAMCA IDs for the castings:

FEA01 - 2000 - 2000 Chevrolet Suburban
MB477 - 2005 - Chevrolet Suburban Police

FEA02 - 2000 - Chevrolet Impala
MB420 - 1999 - 2000 Chevrolet Impala

FEA03 - 2000 - 1998 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe
MB295 - 1997 - 1997 Chevrolet Corvette

FEA04 - 2000 - 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop
MB321 - 1998 - 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop

FEA05 - 2000 - Ford Thunderbird Concept Hardtop
MB435 - 1999 - 2000 Ford Thunderbird (not made)

FEA07 - 2000 - Jeep Grand Cherokee
MB471 - 2000 - Jeep Grand Cherokee

FEA10 - 2000 - 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible
MB320 - 1998 - 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible

FEA11 - 2000 - Ford Thunderbird Concept Convertible
MB435 - 1999 - 2000 Ford Thunderbird (not made)

FEA12 - 2000 - 1998 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
MB295 - 1997 - 1997 Chevrolet Corvette

FEA14 - 2001 - Bradley M 2 Fighting Vehicle
MB323 - 1998 - Bradley M 2 Fighting Vehicle

FEA15 - 2001 - M 34 2.5 Ton Truck
MB414 - 2001 - M 23 2.5 Ton Truck (not made)

FEA16 - 2001 - Amphibious Personnel Carrier
MB413 - 2000 - Amphibious Personnel Carrier

FEA17 - 2001 - M 4 Sherman Tank
MB397 - 1999 - M4 Sherman Tank

FEA18 - 2001 - M 3 A 2 Half Track
MB415 - 2001 - M 3 A 2 Half Track (not made)

FEA19 - 2001 - Abrams M 1 Battle Tank
MB274 - 1995 - Abrams Main Battle Tank

FEA20 - 2001 - Willys-Overland Jeep 3/4 Ton 4X4 with Trailer
SF38c - 1976 - Jeep

So, do you think these are to be considered "related castings"? I'd appreciate any input.

For the "not made" castings, I'm kinda assuming that they were going to modify the featured casting for the main line, and decided not to.

Dean I always understood those featured casting to be made from the same molds. Of course I dont have nay at hand to check for differences so could well be wrong

Yeah, I'm pretty much in the same boat. I think I'll add the links in my database and wait for someone to dispute it.

Generally I agree. However I do not think the "Feature Car" Willys Jeep is related with any of the earlier Jeep castings, as it is much smaller and includes a trailer.
